ROSA TOLLA

Born in Potenza, Italy, in 1988. She first approached cultural anthropology during her undergraduate thesis in History at the University of Naples, Federico II, working on topics such as magic and the evil eye in Southern Italy. She continued her studies at Sapienza, University of Rome, and obtained her Masters in Ethno-Antropological Disciplines with a thesis on the re-use of colonial heritage elements for tourism purposes in the Estrada Real project in Minas Gerais (BR). From then on, Lusophone areas have become the common thread of her experiences, both academically and professionally. In 2019 he defended his PhD thesis at the University of Naples, Federico II, with a research focused on heritageization processes in Mozambique, in two “places of memory”, such as Ilha de Moçambique and Mafalala (Maputo). In the last years she worked in International Development Cooperation in Cape Verde and Mozambique, with the aim of spreading the ethnographic methodology as an added value in the Third Sector. Considering the development of the artistic side of an individual fundamental to his being-in-the-world, what brings her to Quintal is the purpose of creating a “third space” of expression that intersects between the academic and the artistic world.
